  July 26, This is the last album from the American series produced by Rick Rubin, an another collection of songs recorded before the great Johnny Cash died, this album includes his last ever recording. I find the album hard to listen to as it sounds like someone who knows he doesn't have long, every single word has a certain power and meaning/5().

  It was so sad to hear Johnny Cash's posthumous American V, which was a brilliant album and wonderfully produced. On first hearing, 'Ain't No Grave' continues where the last album left off. The title track s touching and ironic with its theme. Not as good as the last, mostly because the choice of songs is not quite as appealing/5().

  "American VI - Ain't No Grave" is Johnny's final studio album and the last in the Rick Rubin series that began, to great acclaim, in with American Recordings The tracks were recorded in during the same sessions that produced American V: A Hundred Highways. It was during these sessions that his wife, June Carter Cash, died/5(51).

  If there were any justice, Ain't No Grave would be the last album released under Cash ’s name. It is not only a compelling contribution to his legacy, but an offering that closes the historic American Recordings series with the same stamp of quality that began it.8/
